Reports To: Plant Manager / CEO Department: Safety & Environmental Compliance Primary Purpose The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving workplace safety and environmental compliance programs. This role ensures adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and state environmental requirements, while fostering a proactive safety culture across all operations. Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety & Health
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, NJ State requirements, industry best practices, and the JPC Safety Manual.
  • Identify potential workplace hazards, conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and review them with supervisors for training and job planning.
  • Perform all OSHA recommended and required training for all employees
  • Document all safety training by employees and maintain a log of required certifications and renewals.
  • Ensure all required Federal and NJ safety postings are displayed, updated, and in good condition.
  • Recommend appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and oversee PPE compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly injury and safety statistics to management.
  • Lead monthly safety committee meetings: gather concerns, assign responsibilities, track corrective actions, and report results.
  • Develop and deliver new hire safety orientations; maintain written and visual training materials, ensuring annual review and updates.
  • Prepare and submit annual OSHA reports.
  • Conduct daily inspections of plant and yard areas, identify hazards, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Investigate all incidents and accidents, prepare reports for management and insurance providers, and lead root cause analysis with the safety committee.
  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) for all materials.
  1. Environmental Protection
  • Ensure compliance with stormwater runoff permits and all DEP requirements.
  • Collect and submit stormwater samples, ensure lab analysis, and report results to DEP.
  • Serve as primary contact and escort for DEP and environmental inspections.
  • Conduct regular environmental compliance inspections and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and training skills. Bilingual is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, lead meetings, and prepare clear reports.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, incident reporting software).
  • Certification in OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or equivalent preferred.

Position Summary Jersey Precast is seeking a dedicated full-time Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team in the fast-paced precast concrete manufacturing environment. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all purchasing activities and warehouse operations to ensure efficient and timely ordering, receiving, handling, storage, and distribution of materials used in the Precast/Prestressed concrete manufacturing. This role ensures accurate inventory control, timely receiving of goods, preparation of material kits per bill of materials, and coordination of outgoing materials for services such as galvanizing. The Purchasing Manager works closely with the project managers, production, QC, and logistics teams, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure that the right materials are available ahead of time for uninterrupted manufacturing of the precast/prestressed products. Key Responsibilities
  1. Purchasing and Vendor Management
  • Lead and supervise all purchasing activities ensuring timeliness, quality, and compliance with prescribed standards.
  • Analyze purchasing data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and lead negotiations with vendors on pricing and terms for the best value.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with vendors and suppliers, leading to optimal pricing, quality, and timely deliveries.
  • Conduct market research, identify new opportunities and industry trends, on-board new suppliers and alternate materials to ensure economy and reliability.
  1. Receiving & Inventory Management
 
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, supplies, and equipment for accuracy, damage, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Record all received items in the inventory system, ensuring accurate quantities and locations.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of consumables, raw materials, embedded items, and production supplies.
  • Label and store materials in designated locations to ensure easy retrieval and inventory accuracy.
  1. Material Handling & Storage
  • Ensure proper organization, labeling, and storage of all warehouse inventory in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Manage storage space efficiently to accommodate varying sizes and weights of precast-related materials.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  1. Kitting & Bill of Materials Fulfillment
  • Review production schedules and bills of materials (BOM) to gather and prepare all required components for specific precast units.
  • Supervise and organize kits in designated staging areas for timely delivery to production.
  • Verify the accuracy of kits before release to production teams.
  1. Outgoing Materials & Vendor Coordination
  • Coordinate and ship materials for outside processing, including galvanizing, machining, or other treatments.
  • Maintain accurate records of items sent and returned from external vendors.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics for outbound and inbound materials related to outside services.
  1. Inventory Control & Reporting
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and annual inventory audits.
  • Investigate and reconcile any inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide reports to management on stock levels, reorder points, and material usage trends.
  1. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all warehouse operations comply with OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Train warehouse staff in safe material handling practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree. CIM /Engineering /Technical background is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of purchasing and warehouse management experience in a manufacturing or construction-related industry. Precast experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Titan® is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate technical product data and MTRs to ensure compliance with the prescribed requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the concrete batching system to ensure the consistent production of quality concrete mixes for precast manufacturing. This role includes receiving and managing raw material inventories, monitoring equipment, adjusting mix designs to meet specified requirements, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities Raw Materials & Inventory Management
  • Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries of raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory records of raw materials
  • Place orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and avoid production delays
  • Submit daily concrete batching report
Batch Plant Operation
  • Operate automated batching system to produce concrete to required specifications
  • Conduct pre-startup, daily, weekly, and monthly checks of all batch plant equipment and systems
  • Monitor and adjust material feed rates, water content, and admixtures to achieve proper concrete consistency, slump, and air content
  • Ensure accurate recording of batch weights, adjustments, and mix changes
  • Coordinate and schedule NYSDOT annual batch plant automation inspection, and quarterly scales check.
  • Occasional plastic concrete testing (must be ACI certified)
Quality Control & Mix Adjustments
  • Work closely with the quality control team to ensure concrete meets required strength, workability, and durability standards
  • Adjust mix proportions based on real-time feedback (slump, temperature, moisture content, air content)
  • Document and communicate any mix adjustments to relevant personnel
  • Attend monthly QC meetings
Maintenance & Housekeeping
  • Assist with performing routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on batching equipment
  • Keep the batch plant, surrounding areas, and material storage locations clean and organized
  • Report equipment issues promptly to maintenance
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Wear required PPE and ensure safety measures are observed at all times
  • Maintain compliance with environmental guidelines for dust control, water usage, and waste disposal
Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a batch plant operator in precast, ready-mix, or similar environment preferred
